Rose Festival 2008 Celebration
Portland, known as the “City of Roses,” and home to the International Rose Test Gardens, is host to the Rose Festival which takes place every year in the month of June. While the entire festival spans the whole month, everyone’s favorite activity is the Grand Floral Parade. Now in it’s 101st year, it is the seconds-largest and only other all-floral float parade in the United States, and is televised nationally to millions of viewers. This is your chance to get up close to the action, see the floats and enjoy the sweet smells of the Pacific Northwest!

Day 1 — June 4 — Portland, Oregon
Arrive in Portland at the Doubletree Hotel in the heart of downtown. Meet your tour manager to begin your afternoon tour of this special city decorated in celebration of the rose! See Chinatown, Old Town, special shopping areas and enjoy the atmosphere of the festivities. Return to your hotel to enjoy a festive Welcome Dinner with your tour companions. Dinner
Day 2 — June 5 — Mount Hood and beautiful Timberline Lodge
A full day excursion to Mount Hood, jewel of the Oregon Cascade Mountains is in store. Enjoy the historic Columbia River Gorge, Mulnomah Falls and the Bonneville Dam and fish ladders before ascending the back side of Mount Hood to Timberline Lodge at the 6,000 foot level to have your lunch. Return to Portland midst nursery farms, horse paddocks and vineyards. The evening is free for your enjoyment. Choose from a variety of cuisines, shop at the Lloyd Center Mall to also visit the Rose Show or just relax. Breakfast & Lunch
Day 3 — June 6 — The Oregon Coast and Seaside
Head westward to the pristine Oregon coastline at Seaside. There is a stop at Camp 18 to browse the once used logging camp and have a cup of coffee before you continue to Seaside where one can walk on the beach or just enjoy the scenery and the Promenade. Continue the afternoon at the artsy village of Cannon Beach, site of the monolith Haystack Rock. Peruse the galleries and shops before your return to Portland. Breakfast
Day 4 — June 7 — Rose Festival Parade
The special day has arrived! Floats decorated with live flowers will pass before you. High-stepping bands and equestrian units are all part of the spectacle. The afternoon is free to enjoy the Saturday Market, the events on the waterfront or the dragon boat races along the river. This evening, cruise and dine on the Willamette River with interesting Rose Festival views from the waterside as you join your companions for a Farewell Dinner. Breakfast & Dinner
Day 5 — June 8 — Departure Day
Depart for home today with wonderful memories of Oregon and the Portland Rose Festival!
