Albuquerque Student Trip

Sandia Peak Tramway Day 1, Tuesday - Depart your home for Albuquerque, New Mexico this morning. There is an early afternoon arrival and a transfer to the Sheraton Inn - Old Town. There is time for a late lunch in Old Town, followed by a walking tour. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel.

Day 2, Wednesday - Our motor coach takes us to the countryside this morning. The destination is the Acoma Sky Pueblo. Sky City is the oldest continuously inhabited pueblo in New Mexico, located some 70 miles west of Albuquerque. You will have a guided tour and eat lunch at Acoma before your return to the city.

Day 3, Thursday - Begin your day with a trip to the Petroglyph National Monument to explore a site with more than 15,000 Pueblo and Hispanic rock images that can be seen. Our next stop is Sandia Peak for a ride on the world’s longest tram. Take in the breathtaking view from the top of Sandia Peak and enjoy lunch at the High Finance restaurant. After you descend, your motor coach transfers you to the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology for a tour of the international collections that emphasize the Native Cultures of the Southwest. Enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day 4, Friday - This is a full day trip to the Bandelier National Monument today. It is the nation's most popular national monument and combines Indian ruins and cliff dwellings of the Anasazi tribes. Start the day with a stop at the Coronado National Monument, then visit the Jemez Pueblo and the Jemez Red Rocks Ruins before we reach Bandelier National Monument where we can hike to the Ceremonial Cave. Return to Albuquerque late afternoon.

Day 5, Saturday - We go to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center this morning to see craft demonstrations and Indian dancing. This is a specialty event each weekend in the area. Following lunch, there is free time at the arts and crafts market. Transfer to the airport for your return home.
